Experiences

System Architect - SysArchOP

SysArchOP is my consulting initiative, focused on AWS cloud-native integration challenges. Currently on standby, it is ready to engage in select, high-impact opportunities where I contribute hands-on system architecture expertise in long-term commitments.

2026-04 - Present

System Architect - Verisure ("MP" team)

In the "MP" team at Verisure, I led the architecture and implementation of a next-generation visual security platform, moving beyond legacy constraints to embrace AWS cloud-native and serverless technologies. The platform is built around independent, loosely coupled features to enable team autonomy and accelerate delivery. It is a fully managed, event-driven system leveraging AWS IoT Core, Kinesis Video Streams (KVS), S3, DynamoDB, Lambda, and other serverless services to support seamless device connectivity and media workflows. The team operates within a “you build it, you run it” model, strengthening ownership, reliability, and operational excellence.

2024-01 - Present

System Architect - Verisure ("CAIV" team)

In the "CAIV" team at Verisure, I led a major global integration with a key strategic partner, significantly expanding the visual security portfolio. As System Architect, I designed and delivered the company’s first large-scale AWS solution under an aggressive timeline, combining a lift-and-shift of Spring Boot services to AWS EKS with serverless components such as SQS and Lambda, marking a key milestone in cloud adoption.Building on this, I defined and implemented the “Works With” platform, enabling secure and scalable third-party integrations while upholding corporate and strategic principles. These initiatives accelerated cloud adoption and demonstrated how strong system architecture can deliver measurable business value efficiently, even with small, focused teams.

2019-06 - 2023-12

System Architect - Verisure ("HAPI" team)

At Verisure, as System Architect for the "HAPI" team, I led Smart Home integrations with Google Assistant, Alexa, and other partners, developing PoCs and running strategic workshops to explore these ecosystems, while maintaining a strong focus on core security. The team focused on enhancing the customer experience by leveraging external partners and adopting DevOps practices to enable faster, more independent delivery, at a time when this approach was still new within the organization. While the PoCs and explorations were technically strong, they were not taken forward to production as they did not align with business strategy. This reflects my role as System Architect, ensuring that only initiatives with clear business value and long-term impact are pursued.

2018-09 - 2019-05

Developer - Verisure ("BP" team)

At Verisure, as part of the "BP" team, I worked as a Senior Developer and occasionally as a System Architect, delivering mission-critical solutions integrating alarm components with mobile and web applications. My work enhanced the customer experience while streamlining internal operations.I acted as an early adopter of new technologies within the team, implementing Spring Boot-based microservices and event-driven, asynchronous integrations with RabbitMQ to build scalable and maintainable solutions.A key initiative was the design and implementation of the Home Automation engine, a core platform capability enabling smart scheduling for the alarm system, delivering both operational efficiency and tangible value to end users.

2014-10 - 2018-08

Consultant - Cybercom (auSystems)

During a decade at Cybercom (auSystems), I worked at the core of complex, large-scale integrations, helping clients modernize IT landscapes and deliver measurable business value. As a consultant, I designed and implemented robust integration solutions, bridging technical teams and business stakeholders while defining scalable architectures that reduced complexity and enabled growth.I led major initiatives including WyWallet’s merchant-facing payment API, enabling secure and streamlined mobile payments, and coordinated enterprise e-commerce platform deliveries at Sony Mobile. At SAS and Swisscom, I architected and implemented middleware platforms and SOA-based integration solutions, including canonical data models, event-driven workflows, and reusable service components. These platforms enabled system unification, secure third-party integrations, and reliable operations under high transaction volumes.Beyond hands-on delivery, I contributed strategically by defining integration standards, guiding architectural decisions, and supporting RFPs and technical workshops, ensuring solutions were aligned with long-term business objectives.
